Chandigarh,Oct,9 The Department of Mathematics, Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh organized an Expert Talk cum Webinar on October 9, 2021. Dr. Vikas Bist, Associate Professor from Department of Mathematics, Panjab University, Chandigarh delivered an expert talk on "A glimpse into Approximation using Taylor Series".
Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal of the College welcomed the speaker and highlighted the importance of Mathematics in daily life. The resource person demonstrated how effective approximation is achieved using Taylor series expansion. A small history of evaluation of pi using ingenious methods for approximation by Indian Mathematicians was also discussed.
The webinar was attended by faculty, researchers and students from different Colleges, Universities and research Institutions. All in all, it was a valuable and illuminating session for everyone.
