Chandigarh,June,17,(Poonam)Cyber Crime Investigation Cell, Chandigarh of Chandigarh Police has achieved a major success in arrest of two accused from Delhi NCR. For this SP CCIC formed a special team of CCIC under the supervision of DSP/CCIC headed by Incharge/CCIC, in Case FIR No 136 dated 12.06.2021 U/s 419,420, 120B IPC PS 26, Chandigarh, to apprehend the criminals involved in online cheating.
The brief of the case are that CCIC had received a complaint from Sh. Ashok Rohilla that on 06.06.2021 he received a call on his mobile number and caller posed himself as RBL bank official and he also disclosed all his RBL credit card details, as monthly charges are deducting from his credit card and he wants to discontinue the deduction and after the allurement of the caller complainant shared one OTP regarding update of credit card settings and with this Rs. 59999/- has been deducted in four transactions i.e. 29999/-, 10000/- 10000/- 10000/- from his RBL credit card and after that he switched of his mobile. Email of complainant was also hacked by fraudsters. Thus, the alleged person has cheated the complainant to the tune of Rs. 59999/- by posing himself as RBL bank official.
During the course of investigation accused (1) Ashish S/o Ganga Parsad, H.no L-179, Near OK Model School, Mohan Garden, New Delhi, Age 23 years (2) Nikhil S/o Late. Ved Parkash, H.no M-33, Near OK Model School, Dwarka Mode, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Age 24 Years have arrested from Delhi on 16.6.21 Mobile phones containing the data related to RBL Credit card and payment gateway have been recovered from their possession. Accused were produced in court today and 8 days police remand of accused Ashish and Nikhil has been obtained till 25th June. Investigation is going to know the whereabouts of other accused in case and other aspects in case.
